ABOUT JAMES
James began coaching as part of his teaching practice in 2015, and has been coaching ever since. He took his experience freelance in 2020, and has been coaching ever since. He works across two main sectors, Private Equity & Education.
James is a fully Certified Co-active coach with CTI, the Gold standard in ICF accredited coach training programmes, as well as being an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.
Building strong relationships to help people grow and improve their performance is James' motivation.
Background
James attended the University of Cambridge where he gained a 2.1 degree in Theology and Religious studies. During his time there he was heavily involved in student drama. After university James worked as an actor before becoming a teacher of Philosophy and Religion at Wellington College. In his 5 years at Wellington, he completed his PGCE and NQT years gaining fully qualified teacher status. He coached Rugby, Football, & Cricket, ran the student film-making club WTV, and was an assistant housemaster. His coaching journey started with young people, and has spread from there.
Since then James has become a Certified Co-active Coach, and an ICF accredited coach. James still works widely in the education sector, coaching and training teachers, school leaders, & students. His practice has grown to include corporate clients including a partnership with HPE Growth to provide all employees access to CTI Coaching, as well as with individual clients from Google, Mercer Consulting, EY, and many more. His education clients include Wellington College, Ampleforth College, Felsted School, Ibstock Place School, and many more.
